GroupWise Web 7.0 is Here!

The new version of GroupWise (7.0) is finally here at CCSF. The web version (the one we use from home and on Macs) is upgrading first. Between now and February 1, 2009, you'll have the choice to use the old version (GroupWise 6.5) or the new version.

GroupWise Web 7.0 has a new, streamlined, more attractive look. It conserves the same functionality and features that you've grown to love, but adds some really terrific new features that you'll just love.

The American University School of Communication Center for Social Media has a terrific publication, "The Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education". Watch the thought provoking video that could have implications for other fields as well. See their other publicationsl:

Google Apps

During the week of FLEX, Tuesday, Jan.6 10-12 in Batmale 313, we'll have a workshop entitled, "Intro to iGoogle and Google Docs". In the meantime, here are links to some Google Apps Training sites:

@ONE Announces Winter Hands-On Institute

Now's the time to sign up for the terrific hands on workshops to be held this winter, at the Ohlone College Newark Center (a new green campus ). These workshops offer professional, in-depth training, and the opportunity to meet with colleagues from around the state.

Tuesday, October 28: The first of a 4-part PowerPoint series, The Basics. 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Batmale 313. If you've wanted to learn to make a dynamite presentation, but have never offered yourself the time, now's the time to start.
